Powerball 2023 - Example Post

Because I have noticed that there are still questions about this challenge, I've decided to make an example post for clarification. Hope it will help ;)

My prompts for week one:
General 1: Old
General 2: Sweet
Additional: Slash/Femslash
Powerball: Extra prompt = Winter

1. The prompts I can use for creating main works this week
Old
Sweet
Winter
I can use all of them or just one or two.
I can make one main work per prompt.
For a main work, I can create one big work or multiple smaller single works to earn maximum points.

2. Additional prompt
Slash/femslash
If I base one or more main work(s) on this theme, I will earn five extra points per main work.

Examples:
I chose to create something for 'old' = Fandom: Harry Potter, 'sweet' = Fandom: Bridgerton and 'winter' = Fandom: The Faculty.

Main work one:
Harry Potter = I will make four icons and a small banner.
All works are based on the prompt 'old'.
I ignore the additional prompt this time.
Points I will get: 4 (icons) + 2 (banner)

Main work two:
Bridgerton = I will write a fic (365 words) based on the prompt 'sweet'.
I will ignore the additional prompt again.
Points I will get: 3

Main work three (extra prompt because of the powerball):
The Faculty = I will write a fic (417 words) and a haiku.
Both works are based on the general prompt 'winter' and the additional prompt 'slash/femslash'.
I will get extra points this time for using the additional prompt.
Points I will get: 4 (fic) + 1 (haiku) + 5 (additional prompt)

In total, I will earn 19 points in week 1 (without team points!!!).

I think I messed up again. I'm sorry. Let me see what I'm mixing up. I wrote another little fic to put the two of them under old for over 600 words. I posted the second one onto the first one, so now there are two for that one. Did I do that wrong? Otherwise, I think I've got it. Thanks for all the explaining and examples.

Every main work can consist of multiple smaller single works, as long as you use the same prompt and the same fandom. Maximum points are always 6 points per general prompt.

And if my powerball is a wildcard, I get to change one of my main prompts for another main prompt or my additional prompt for another additional prompt (that then can be used in combination with both main prompt works), right? Just want to make sure that I can switch my additional prompt and use it twice lol.

I have another small chunk of questions. :D

• For the team challenge, can we do the second and third fill of a prompt before the card and/or the row is complete?


• If we finish a complete row once, including the powerball prompt, will future fills for the non-powerball prompts in that row still be added to the double points total, or only the ones that were there when the powerball prompt was filled?


• If we finish our first card, but there are still second and third fills possible, can we work on them after we started the second card?

I just had an idea for an already filled prompt in our team card, and I don't think I'll be able to wait until everything else is finished xD

1. Yes, you can do second and third fills at any time, no matter if the card is complete.

2. Yes. The powerball counts for all fills done in the row, also for second and third fills.

3. This card ends on October 8 - at this date, all points will get counted and the card will be closed for more fills. If you finish the card earlier, you can still make fills until October 8.
