Welcome to our second challenge of the year 2023.

April 23 - May 6: Signing up period
May 7 - July 30: Challenge open
July 31 - August 6: Final score

Short Introduction
Everyone participating will get a personalized 6x6 bingo card. The prompts will be chosen randomly from 120 possible prompts.

You can make common bingos like horizontal or vertical lines, but also unique bingo patterns are offered.

Only completed bingos will bring you points, single prompts won't.

This challenge will run as a team challenge to offer the chance for more points. Participation is optional.

Go here to find out more details about the bingo pattern.

Signing up is closed now.
Important: You need to be a member of Fandom Empire to sign up for the challenge. Some of the challenge posts will be members locked!

Have a look at the prompt list first. You can opt-out up to 15 prompts you don't want to find on your card.

Then sign up for the challenge here until May 6 23.59 UTC. Countdown. Leave a short comment that you want to participate and don't forget to tell me about your opt-out prompts.

Please notice: If you are not a member of the [community profile] fandom_empire_workplace yet, I will send you an invitation. Join the community, because this is the place to post all your works.

Let's play
After getting your bingo card you are free to finish as many bingos as you can until this challenge ends.

At the beginning of the challenge, you will get three wildcards to displace up to three prompts from your cards with any prompt from the prompt list. You can use them at any time, and you don't have to use all of them.

Allowed Work Types
Fics/Meta: minimum 100 words
Poems: minimum 1 Haiku or similar
Icons: 100x100 px, <60kb
Other Graphics: minimum 450 px width x height (e.g. 150 px x 300 px sig tag, or a 100 px x 350 px banner)
There is no maximum.
Animated icons and graphics are allowed.

You may create fandom works, original works and real-person works.

Bingos can overlap, but if you re-use a prompt for another bingo you will have to create a new work for it.

You can mix up fandoms/work types at any time.

Every prompt requires a completed work (no wip, no chapter). Don't mix up two or more prompts in one work.
Exception: For fics, you are allowed to post one big story to complete a bingo. In this case, required are separate chapters, where every chapter uses one prompt of the pattern and reaches the minimum of 100 words. All prompts of the pattern must be used in this one work.

Attention:
We have 16 different bingo patterns. You can fill every kind of pattern only once per card. E.g. Don't fill two diagonal lines or two edges!
Once you have finished at least 12 prompts = one bigger pattern or two/three smaller patterns on your card, you can sign up for a new one (maximum three cards). All bingo patterns are open for use again.

Points
You will earn points only for completed bingos, not for single works. For every used bingo prompt, you will get 1 point. (eg: small square = 4 prompts = 4 points // big triangle = 15 prompts = 15 points).

You can mix up work types and fandoms (= original work / real person work)for every bingo, but you will earn extra points when you:

(Bingo pattern 3-6 prompts)
complete a bingo with icons only = + 1 point
complete a bingo with graphics (bigger than an icon) only = + 2 point
complete a bingo with fics only = + 2 point
complete a bingo with poems only = + 3 point
complete a bingo with one fandom only = + 2 point
complete a bingo with one fandom + one work type only = + 5 point

(Bingo pattern 8-12 prompts)
complete a bingo with icons only = + 2 point
complete a bingo with graphics (bigger than an icon) only = + 3 point
complete a bingo with fics only = + 3 point
complete a bingo with poems only = + 4 point
complete a bingo with one fandom only = + 3 point
complete a bingo with one fandom + one work type only = + 7 point

(Bingo pattern 15-20 prompts)
complete a bingo with icons only = + 4 point
complete a bingo with graphics (bigger than an icon) only = + 5 point
complete a bingo with fics only = + 5 point
complete a bingo with poems only = + 6 point
complete a bingo with one fandom only = + 5 point
complete a bingo with one fandom + one work type only = + 11 point

Not-used wildcards will bring you 2 extra points each at the end of the challenge.

You might earn even more extra points in the team challenge.

Posting
All works should be new and not be posted in other communities before. It's okay to use them for other challenges at the same time or to reuse them later.

Post your works at [community profile] fandom_empire_workplace. You can post single works, but in this case, please don't forget to make a final bingo post with links going to all the works you have created for one pattern.

If you prefer to post at other places like AO3 or your personal writing journal, don't forget to make a final post with links going to your (unlocked for at least four weeks) works for every completed bingo pattern at the [community profile] fandom_empire_workplace. Only bingos posted there will get counted!

Please mark your final bingo posts with 'BINGO COMPLETED' in the headline!

Make a note with:
a. the used bingo pattern
b. the used fandom(s)
c. the used work type(s)

When posting your entries, use headers, cuts and tags wisely.

Thank you so much for the reminder, I would've absolutely missed signing up! Busy week, brain.exe has stopped working. xD

(I really hope I'll get a colour prompt, just seeing the hex codes gave me ideas for DAYS. :D)

Could you please tell me why some of the prompts have the word color and a number behind the word. Could you explain. This is my first time and I just want to be up to par. Thank you.

If I want to use one of my wild cards, do you need to know ahead of time or do I just note it somehow at the time I post?

For the "Underground city" prompt, would you actually accept a city that's underwater instead? I know water's not really ground but for the fandom I want to use, I can't think of a single underground city. Thanks!

Oh THANK YOU! I haven't quite committed to the idea yet but I am considering it. We'll see what happens :-)

Just to be sure I have this right: When you use one fill for a prompt to complete a bingo, you cannot use the SAME fill to complete another bingo pattern correct? You have to create another fill for it to count?

I also want to know if the book titles have to be used in a way that related to the books?

Thanks!

Okay to clarify I was asking for one bingo card. You can use one fill for one bingo on one card at a time and then you have to make another fill.

I am currently filling sun three different times because I am using that prompt in three different bingo patterns. I just want to know if I have to fill a prompt as many times as I am in order for it to count as fill 3 different patterns.

Okay, a fill doesn't count until you finish all the fills for a bingo right? I am asking because I posted a fill for one of the patterns I was planning to do before I move to another card but now I have 3 fills left to make for my 3rd bingo on this card and I'll be able to move on. I want to know if my fill will be usable when I do eventually return to my first card?

Thanks!

Once I request a second card, can I still complete patterns on the first card?

Thanks! I wanted to double-check as I decide which pattern to tackle next.

How do you feel about a prompt being used as a complete opposite, say like I take bright and use the opposite meaning which is dark? I have something I want to do inspired by my latest entry.

Thanks :-)

It's not a completely original idea on my part, but comes from elsewhere.

I guess I will have to write the second idea and save the other story for another time unless I can figure something out when one of the prompts.

Thanks!
