fandom_empireWelcome to the second challenge of 2024. Some of you might remember the challenge from last year, though I've made some changes. So, please read the rules before signing up.

The Board
Let's have a quick look at the board first.
You will find eight groups of prompts, four airports, one starting point (go!), one jail, four x chance, and two wildcards.
Every street prompt comes with a minimum to earn points.
The airports come with a fixed requirement.
Stopping at the starting point will give you three extra points.
Stopping at the jail will offer you the choice to move on (in this case, you can post only one work) or to skip the week.
Stopping at a chance square will offer you a 'secret chance'.
Wildcards will allow you to create two free works of your choice. No minimum at all. 3 points for each work.

Signing up
If you want to play, you need to sign up here until May 11 11.59 UTC.
Let's play
On May 12, I will roll the dice for you for the first time. On the weekly playlist, you will find your prompt and the requirements.
If you don't like your prompt, you can ask me to roll the dice again. In this case, you can submit only one work.
On May 19, I will roll the dice again for everyone who has submitted a least one work (or who is excused - go here to check it out), and you will move on to the next prompt. If you haven't posted a work/are not excused, you will get moved to the hiatus list. (This is not a punishment, but it helps to keep the active playlist simple. You are more than welcome to jump back into the game at any time.)
The challenge will run for 12 weeks.
Week 13 is the Joker Week, and you have the chance to catch up on the week(s) you might have missed.
If you have participated every week, you will get a joker.

Points
There are different ways to earn points for this challenge.
1. Regular Challenge (weekly)
Generally, you can create two works every week.
Depending on your prompt of the week, you can earn 3-8 points for your first work and 1-4 points for your second work.
Keep in mind: You can post only one work, if you
a. end in 'Jail' and decide to roll the dice again
b. don't like your prompt and ask for a re-roll
c. have skipped one or more weeks and ask for a new prompt to jump back into the game
You will earn 3-8 points, depending on the given prompt.
2. Extra Points: Regular Game
Stopping at 'Go' = 3 extra points; the dice are rolled again
A Row of Streets / All Airports
Complete a row of streets (3 of the same color) or all airports, and you will earn some extra points.
Easy (3 / 4 points per street) = 3 extra points
Difficult (5 / 6 points per street) = 5 extra points
Airports = 8 extra points
3. Extra Points: Additional Challenge
The additional challenge is optional for everyone who wants to create more than two works a week. You can earn some extra points here. Check out the information post for the additional challenge..
Posting
Every work should be new and not be posted anywhere before. You can re-post / re-use it for other communities later.
Every work should be completed (no WIP; single chapters are okay as long as they work as stand-alone ficlets).
You can submit up to two works every week. Feel free to use different fandoms and work types.
You can create a two-chapter ficlet instead of two single works for one prompt, but keep in mind that the minimum must be reached in every chapter.
You have seven days to post your finished works atfandom_empire_workplace (The official posting ends Sunday, 17.00 UTC, but I will allow belated works until I've made the closing post).
Use a header and a cut (for works bigger than 2 icons or 1 haiku) or a header and a link if you prefer to post at other places like AO3.
