Short Reminder:
For both general prompts, you are allowed to create one main work each.
One main work can consist of one or more individual works.
It's okay to use only one general prompt and ignore the second one.
Don't combine both prompts in one work.

The use of the additional prompt is optional.
Don't create individual works for additional prompts!
You must base all your (single) works for a general prompt on the given genre/theme to earn additional points.
It's okay to use the additional prompt only for one main work and ignore it for the second one.

Only posting main work(s) and single team works at empire_fandom_workplace are allowed. Always make a note in the subject line: WEEK x - MAIN or TEAM.

Hiatus List
Members who have skipped 2+ weeks without excuse will get moved to the hiatus list. This is only to make the playlist easier to handle - you are more than welcome to jump back into the game whenever you want. Once you have posted a work, you will be back on the weekly playlist.

Okay, I need to ask a question: Do I need to make fills just for the forst two prompts in order to be able to make fill(s) for my powerball? Or does the "optional" one need to be used as well? I read over this a few times and LPL please excuse my questions but I want to be sure I get this before I get cracking on this week.

Let me explain with your given prompts.

You have two general prompts: yellow and ritual. These are the prompts you can create main works for this week. It is up to you to use only one of them, or both. Just don't combine them in one work!

When your powerball is 'extra' you get a third general prompt and you can submit up to three main works. It's 'winter' for you this week. So you can use 'yellow', 'ritual' and 'winter' or only one or two of them for creating main work(s). This is totally up to you.

Your additional prompt (time travel) is optional. If you decide to use it, you don't create single works for it but combine it with your general main works. Example: You decide to write a story for the prompt 'ritual'. Combine this story with the additional prompt 'time travel' and you will get 5 extra points.

If you decide to mix up graphics and fic for your main work based on 'ritual', all works must be based on the additional prompt to earn the extra points!

You can use the additional prompt for only one general prompt, and ignore it for the others. Example again: Write the prompts 'winter' and 'yellow' without basing the stories on time travel events.

Okay, I sorta got it, I think LOL.

I am going to concentrate on yellow, ritual, and winter and ignore time travel as I'm not in a mood to deal with that one this week lol.

This week I have old and train for prompts, With magic as my third prompt, does it have to have magic in it, or can it be magical connection or something like that? I feel so stupid. I've done two stories so far and don't know where to go from there. I would like to do magic but needed to ask first. And once I do all three, then do I go to the powerball and do the word frog? The green powerball says frog. Which I can do, but how do I pick one of the others for the tteam? Just whatever I want? Sorry, I'm so confused.

You have used both general prompts to write a story, so you will get points for that now.

The additional prompt gives you an optional theme/genre (magic for you this week) - if you would have based your main works on this genre in addition to the general prompt, you would have earned 5 extra points. (Example: a story about Dumbledor (old wizzard) using his power (magic) to save Harry Potter).

You don't create a separate work for the additional point. But it is totally fine just to ignore it for your main works like you did this week.

Your Powerball this week is 'Zonk', so nothing will happen. When you get the Wildcard sometime, you can change one of your general prompts (have a look at the prompt list for that). When your Powerball is 'Extra' sometime, you will get a third general prompt and you can create three main works that week.

The team card has nothing to do with the general Powerball Challenge - it's an extra to earn more points. Like stated in the team rules, you can grab two prompts (pickever whichever you like) there every week. When line 2 on the team card is finished one member of the team can grab the Powerball = green for filling and earning more points for the team.

So for this week, I only have two works so that means I can’t write a story for team points. You have to have three works right? Can I write a second story for old? Then I would have three works done.

Hmmm... yes and no ;)

But no need to worry.

Regular Powerball Challenge:

To explain points more easy for ficwriters: 100 words will always bring you 1 point; 600+ words will bring you the maximum of 6 points. To reach the maximum you can do multiple fics (example: 6 drabbles (100 words each) OR 1 fic 452 words + one fic 202 words will both bring you 6 points).

You can make maximum points with every general prompt = 2 general prompts can bring you up to 2x6 points.

You have had two general prompts this week, and you have already posted one main work for each. This is fine. You have already reached maximum points with 'train', but you could add another fic (100 words minimum) for 'old' to earn maximum points there, too. (Please, update your main post 'old' if you do so and add the second story there).

The team challenge is a separate challenge to offer the chance for even more points! Works posted for the regular challenge don't count here. So you always can do up to two team posts every week!

Alright, just to see if I understand (sorry if this sounds dumb).

This week I can create up to three main works, separately for each of the prompts "sweet", "tree" and "ocean". To keep it simple let's just say I'll do one fic for each, do I have to use the same fandom for all prompts? Or is that only if I were making separate fics for the same prompt?

Also, if I want bonus points then each fic has to be about that prompt and also "Fantasy/Fairy Tales". Can I get the bonus for one main work but not all? Say, write about "sweet + Fantasy/Fairy Tales" but then another fic just for "tree"?

Sorry if all of these sound really obvious, I went over the rules a couple of times and I think I almost understand them, but a concrete example would really help.

You got it perfectly right. :)

You can use different fandoms for different prompts. Example: Harry Potter for 'sweet', Rings of Power for 'tree.'

Both fandoms would earn bonus points for using the additional prompt 'fantasy/fairy tale'.

Finally, you decide to create a third work for 'ocean', choosing 'Baywatch' as the fandom. You won't earn bonus points for this one.
