Fandom Rush 01.25 - Weekly Playlist 5
Feb. 9th, 2025 07:15 pmWelcome to week 5 of the Fandom Rush Challenge. Good luck to everyone!
Google Sheet Weekly Overview
The active fandoms for week 5 are:
All Chicago (all Chicago TV series)
Assassin's Creed (all)
Gilmore Girls (TV original + remake)
Spy X Family (comic + anime)
Star Ocean (games)
Star Trek (movies + TV)
Theater incl. Musical / Opera
Important! Gilmore Girls and Theater are on the list for four weeks now. No matter the works, both fandoms will get deleted next week, in addition to the three fandoms with the least works.
If you find one of your opt-out fandoms on the active list, feel free to choose a different one from the fandom pool instead. Already used fandoms (marked red) are not allowed. Leave a comment here before you start creating.
If you find one or more of your designated fandoms on the active list, you must create at least one work for them. Otherwise, you will lose five points!
If you want to use a designated fandom that is not on the current playlist, you can use a wildcard to replace an active fandom with the designated one of your choice. Leave a comment here before you start creating.
For this week's additional challenge, you will have to create extra works!
Create a gift for someone else's designated fandom. Check out the Fandom Overview Sheet. You can create one gift each for two challenge participants. One gift can consist of several small works, e.g. 4 icons, as long as the works are somehow connected).
Points depend on the work(s) (maximum 4 points each).
Note: Don't use designated fandoms you find on the active list and red-marked ones. You can create a gift for one of your designated fandoms if it is also a designated one for someone else.
:::
Short reminder of the rules
You can choose one to seven fandoms from the list to create something for it.
There is no maximum of works; the maximum number of weekly regular points is 25.
The additional challenge is optional. Play for extra points! Or simply ignore it. You can play the additional challenge only once every week. Don't forget to mark your work as 'additional' when posting it!
For complete rules, minimum and points go here.
:::
If you have questions, check out the Questions & Answers
post. If you can't find your answer here, feel free to leave a comment.
Posting for this week officially ends Sunday, February 16 17.00 UTC. There is a grace period until the week is finally called 'close'.

Date: 2025-02-09 06:54 pm (UTC)I assume this is a gift for another person participating in this event and specifically for their designated fandoms, not just a gift for anyone that happens to use a designated fandom of someone here, is this correct?
If we're posting on AO3, do we indicate that it's a gift over there? Not everyone has an AO3 and not everyone who's on there necessarily has their account set up to accept gifts.
If someone else has a designated fandom that I also have as a designated fandom, am I allowed to do the gift for that fandom or do I need to pick someone's designated fandom that is not one of my designated fandoms?
Should people share in the comments here what sort of things they'd like to see and don't want for their gift? Fandoms are broad; it can be hard to know what someone might want to see for their fandom, and especially their DNWs. For the regulars here I can make some guesses based off of what they've shared here in the past but not everyone has posted things in their designated fandoms.

Date: 2025-02-09 07:33 pm (UTC)You can create a work for everyone's designated fandom you find on the Fandom Overview Sheet ( except green and red marked ones).
You can mark your work as a gift at AO3 or leave a note in the header of your work at the Workplace.
Yes, feel free to use your designated fandom when it is on someone else's list, too.
For the last question: I admit I haven't thought about this, but yes, feel free to share your Wants and do-not wants here.

This link goes to a shortened list with all the fandoms you can use. When posting your additional work (= gift), mention the participant's name who owns the designated fandom you used. E.g. you create a work for Emergency Room, and you would mark your post as: Gift for Pebble in the Lake (because ER is a designated fandom by Pebble in the Lake).
I hope this helps. If not, don't hesitate to ask.
