General Information
Our next challenge turns around a Wheel of Fortune. The challenge starts on May 11 and runs to August 10.
Every week, twelve randomly chosen prompts will make it on your weekly fortune wheel. The wheel will be rolled twice to specify your prompts of the week. You will fill one or both prompts with any kind of works of your choice. The maximum regular points you can earn are 15.
In addition, every prompt on the wheel has a corresponding color. The colors offer an optional lucky challenge, which might bring you some extra points.
Prompt Groups
There are twelve prompt groups, each offering ten prompts.
When signing up, every participant will choose six to twelve prompt groups to build the individual prompt pool.
Lucky Colors
Every wheel has six different Lucky Colors; each prompt is connected to one of them (prompts/colors change weekly).
Wildcards
At the beginning of the challenge, everyone will get three wildcards. Every wildcard can be used to choose any prompt from your prompt list.
Every unused wildcard will bring you two extra points at the end of the challenge.
The Sign Up is open now and runs until May 14.
When signing up, you will choose at least six prompt groups from the given list. Additionally, you can opt-out up to twelve single prompts from your chosen groups.
You can also sign up for the optional Team Challenge.
How to Play
The challenge starts on May 11 with the first spin of the Wheel of Fortune, and it runs for thirteen weeks. There will be a weekly playlist, giving you your weekly prompts and the lucky colors.
Grab one or both prompts to create one or more pieces of work.
Possible are fics, poetry, and graphic works.
Feel free to combine various media and fandoms.
You can combine both prompts in one piece of work, but take a look at the work maximum.
When creating a crossover, you can use one or both lucky colors in your work to earn some extra points.
There is no maximum of works, but the maximum number of weekly regular points is 15.
Before starting to create, look at your lucky colors. There might be some extra requirements to earn more points.
Minimum and Points
Minimum per single prompt:
Fic: 100 words
Poems: 1 haiku or similar
Graphics: 2 icons
Minimum both prompts in one work:
Fic: 200 words
Poems: 2 connected haiku or similar
Graphics: 4 icons
Prompts should be used to a similar extent (don't mention one prompt in one sentence and base your work on the other one).
Regular Points:
Fic: every 100 words = 2 points
Haiku (or similar): 3 lines only = 1 point
Poems: every 5 lines = 2 points
Icons: every icon = 1 point
Small Graphics* = 2 points
Big Graphics* = 3 points
*small = e.g. sig tags, gifs, small banner
big = 500x800 px minimum - e.g. moodboard, Tumblr graphic, PC wallpaper
Important: Don't use screenshots or stock photos without any editing.
You can create alternate art versions, but every alternate work will bring only half the points.
The weekly maximum for regular points is 15. You can earn extra points by following the requirements of the Lucky Colors.
Missed weeks and Catching up some points
We all know that things can happen and keep us away from creating something for the weekly challenge.
If you miss a week (or more), your fortune wheel won't get rolled in the following week, but you will stay on the playlist with your previous prompts.
You can earn up to 15 catch-up points. Your weekly maximum of regular points increases from 15 to 30. You can create two works each for both lucky colors for extra points.
Posting
Every work should be new and not be posted anywhere before. You may repost your works in other communities within the same weekly time period or later, though.
Every work should be completed (no WIP; single chapters are okay as long as they work as stand-alone ficlets).
Every week, you can submit as many works as you want. The maximum regular points are 15.
You have seven days to post your finished works at

When posting multiple small works, you can combine them into one post. Leave the used fandoms in the header.
If you prefer posting your works in places like AO3 or your writing journal, that's fine as long as you leave links at the Empire Workplace.
For works created for the Lucky Color, please always make a separate post and include a note 'lucky color' in the subject line.
For works created for the Team Challenge, please always make a separate post and include a note 'Team' or 'Joker for Team x' in the subject line.
High Scores and Rewards
Banner/Badges can be earned by any participants! We will have various personalized banners/badges and one general 'participation' banner/badge.
DW Point rewards
40 DW Points each will go to three randomly chosen regular participants (participation ten+ weeks).
You can support any account/community with your win if you don't want to use the points for yourself. Or tell me that you're not interested in any DW Point Rewards, and I'll exclude you from the list.
AO3 Collection
The AO3 Collection for Fortune Wheel 02.25 can be found here.

Date: 2025-05-10 09:37 am (UTC)Fic: every 100 words = 2 points / 1000 words = 20 points (which is more than the maximum points)
So, a 1000-word fic for one prompt would bring you to the maximum of 15 points. You wouldn't have to use the second prompt in this case, unless you want to earn the color points for prompt two.
